Bihar Floods: Rescue operations in full swing

Over 8 thousand people in relief camps as flood situation remains grim in Bihar; Rescue  and relief operations in full swing as helicopters and more than thousand boats  deployed.

Rescue and relief operations are being conducted in 15 districts of northern and eastern Bihar. As many as 494 panchayats of 15 districts are submerged in flood water.

19 teams of NDRF, 5 teams of SDRF along with civil police are deployed in rescue and relief operations. Relief material are being distributed through boats, tractors and 2 air force helicopters.

In Patna, many people are still stranded in waterlogged areas of Kankarbagh, Rajendra Nagar and adjoining localities. 

The schools will remain closed till Friday. 

Meanwhile, met department has predicted heavy rains in Patna, Vaishali, Begusarai and Khagaria districts for next 24 hours. 

Further, moderate to heavy rain may occur in Buxar, Bhojpur, Navada and Jehanabad.
