Students eagerly wait for the placement offers as soon as their study ends. Many end up getting placements in best and renowned companies in the world and their salary packages that they bag always garner headlines. And now here is the news that has shattered all the records of high salary packages. The offer is done to not IIM or IIT student but to an NIT student named Medha Kumari of Patna. She has been offered a whopping annual salary offer of Rs 39.5 lakhs from Adobe Systems India Pvt Ltd. Medha, who is studying computer science and engineering, appeared for a test which had three rounds viz, online, technical and interview and became the only student to be chosen from the institute.
Apart from Adobe, many companies like Tata Motors, L&T, Capgemini and Amazon among others participated in placement drive. As per TOI report, she was earlier shortlisted by another company and was offered 8.75 lakhs but she believed that she can better package and worked harder and now here she is with one of highest packager taker. “Since I was expecting better pay package, I started preparing for the placement once again and it worked. The interview was quite tough but I was confident,” she said to Indian express.Talking about Medha, like many students, she too belongs from a small town of Madhubani. She completed her matriculation at a regional school and passed higher secondary education from Indian public school. Her perseverance led her to NIT Patna campus and now she is one of the highest wage earners. She is from a humble background, her father owns a shop and her mother is a homemaker. Medha is the first one to receive such high package in NIT Patna.
“This is the highest pay package for an NIT Patna student. Adobe has selected our student for the first time. The second highest package was offered by Amazon, in which five students were picked. Last year, six students were offered job by this e-commerce company with an annual pay package of Rs 27.5 lakh each,” said Samrat Mukherjee, training and placement in-charge to Indian express. She will start her job from June 2018 as a software development, implementation and coding officer.
